HLJ Creative had created a new website for Forest Lake Presbyterian Church in 2018, so by 2024, it was time to work on a refresh. The goal of the refreshed website was to make it easier for staff to update the website themselves while also giving the overall website a new look that would visually appeal to existing and potential members.
The new Forest Lake Presbyterian Church (FLPC) website reflects a fresh, modern identity that’s both welcoming and easy to navigate. HLJ Creative delivered a fully custom, responsive WordPress site that enhances user experience and strengthens the church’s digital presence.
The design incorporates updated branding throughout supported by clean layouts, custom icons, and subtle animations that add personality without distraction. A looping home page video visually introduces the church, creating an immediate emotional connection for visitors. Streamlined information architecture ensures that important areas – such as worship services, ministries, and upcoming events – are intuitive to find and explore.
Content was rewritten and restructured for clarity and engagement, allowing users to quickly understand the church’s values, programs, and how to get involved. Interactive forms were developed to simplify online communications, including prayer requests, contact inquiries, and event sign-ups – all of which improve accessibility and encourage participation.
The final result is a dynamic, mobile-friendly site that balances thoughtful design with meaningful content. Subtle visual enhancements make the site feel polished, while backend improvements make it easy for FLPC staff to maintain and update the site without technical expertise. The overall experience is one that better serves both new visitors and long-time members, fostering stronger engagement and connection with the church community.
